Elysian Energy was founded by current President Jim Conlon with the mission to provide homeowners with expert analysis of their building's performance that they can trust and act upon. Jim's diligent work and expertise in the field led Elysian Energy to be selected as inaugural contractors for the DC Free Audit Program and both BGE and PEPCO's Quick Home Energy Check-up Program. In 2010, we began to apply our expertise to home performance contracting, founding Elysian Energy Solutions in 2011 to insulate, air seal, and seal the ducts to create safer, more affordable, more comfortable homes. Our work has enabled Maryland residents to save millions of dollars and prevent thousands of tons of carbon from being emitted in the atmosphere. With hard work and good fortune, Elysian Energy has been able to expand to a staff of 25 certified energy auditors and several dedicated office staff ensuring the highest quality of service. Jim founded Elysian Energy in 2007 and has cultivated our growth to over 35 employees working across a variety of energy efficiency sectors. His vision, enhancing the built environment for a more sustainable future, has become a core bedrock of our company culture. Jim has worked in energy for over ten years, with over 9 years of energy efficiency work. During that time he has become certified as a LEED for Homes Green Rater, a Certified Passive House Consultant, a HERS Rater, a HERS QAD rater, a PHIUS+ Rater, a BPI Building Analyst, BPI Envelope Professional, and Energy Auditor trainer. Jim grew up in Chicago and earned a degree in Biology (Ecosystem Management and Conservation Biology concentration). Jim instituted the volunteer program at our company, and is passionate about local non-profit work. In addition to making contributions to local animal shelters, he rescued his Border-Collie mix, Gaia, from the Washington Animal Rescue League. Gaia is also our unofficial office mascot.
